Cabinet Secretary Darlene Mueller Douglas
K. Doug Mueller District
Governor Lion Doug Mueller, District Governor, lives in Portsmouth and is a member of the Portsmouth DAC Center Children First Lions Club. Lion Doug has been in Lionism since April 1998 with perfect attendance and has sponsored eleven new Lions. He has been a member of the Western Branch and Smithfield Lions Clubs before becoming a Charter Member/President of the Portsmouth DAC Center Children First Lions Club. He has served as Club President three times, First Vice President, Board of Directors member, Lion Tamer and has served on all club committees. District Governor Doug has served the District as Vice District Governor, Zone G Chairperson, Region II Chairperson, and chairperson of the Environmental, Diabetes Camp, Diabetes Awareness and Medical Outreach committees. He is currently serving on the LOVF Grants committee. Additionally, Lion Doug has been 24D Charity Foundation Secretary, Zone B Campaign Sight First II Group Coordinator, 24D Sight and Hearing Unit Treasurer and District Membership Chairperson. Lion Doug has received three 100% Presidents Award, seven District Governors Appreciation Awards, the Quality Leadership Award and New Horizons Award. He has been a seminar presenter at one International Convention. He is a Lions of Virginia Humanitarian and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to Lionism, Lion Doug is Technology Chairperson and a spokesperson for Project Lifesaver International and is a volunteer at the Oasis Food Bank for the homeless. He is currently employed by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center where he is a Branch Head for the Fleet Liaison and Implementation Readiness Branch. Lion Doug is also retired from the Navy Reserve with 23 years Naval service. District Governor Doug has been married to Lion Darlene for 16 years. They have three adult daughters, Sara, Brandie and Holly and three grandchildren, Jeff, Christopher and Kristina. In addition to Lions, they enjoy traveling in their RV, gardening and spending time with their large extended family and friends.
Darlene Dr. Nurse Mueller Cabinet
Secretary Lion Darlene Mueller, Cabinet Secretary, lives in Portsmouth and is a member of the Portsmouth DAC Center Children First Lions Club. Lion Darlene has been in Lionism since April 1998 with perfect attendance and has sponsored six new Lions. She has been a member of the Western Branch and Smithfield Lions Clubs before becoming a Charter Member/Secretary of the Portsmouth DAC Center Children First Lions Club. She has served as Club President twice, Secretary five times, First Vice President, Board of Directors member and has served on all club committees. Cabinet Secretary Darlene has served the District as Achievement Contest Chair, Diabetes Camp Chair, Diabetes Awareness Chair, Special Needs Equipment Chair and Medical Outreach Chair. She has been the MD24 Diabetes Awareness Chairperson. Lion Darlene has received four District Governor Appreciation Awards and the New Horizons Award. She is a Melvin Jones Fellow. In addition to Lionism, Lion Darlene has run her own business Heart & Health Services and is currently a school nurse at the DAC Center. She is retired from the United States Navy where she served in all aspects of nursing care Lion Darlene has been married to District Governor Doug for 16 years. They have three adult daughters and three grandchildren. In addition to Lions, they enjoy traveling in their RV, gardening and spending time with their large extended family and friends.
